"I wrote a short, ABC bedtime story book based on a stuffed egg named Humpy that my wife slept with when she was a little girl. (Her mom made him for her.)

Like you I had to find an illustrator capable of creating the 26 scenes. I live outside of Philadelphia, and checking with artists in the city, I quickly learned that their fees could be a budget buster. So I went to Craigslist. I have done much business buying and selling on Craigslist and have had very few bad experiences.

When I found Shaun's blog I wrote to him and asked if we could speak by telephone, that way I could get a feel for creativity, and legitimacy. We spoke for about 20 minutes and I was comfortable that he was real, and creative, and he was comfortable that I would pay him according to the schedule we agreed upon.

He is now about halfway through my illustrations and my wife and I couldn't be more pleased. Not only did he capture the spirit of the story with his art, he is timely and receptive to tweaks and idea development.
